MICHAEL D. LANE is an associate resident in the firm’s New Orleans office.  Mr. Lane focuses his practice primarily on construction law, complex commercial and business disputes, toxic and environmental torts, and premises liability.  Mr. Lane’s experience also includes property and liability insurance litigation, insurance coverage and defense, mass torts, asbestos litigation, bankruptcy, BP and hurricane litigation, personal injury, products liability, and intellectual property.  Mr. Lane has also developed extensive experience in procedurally complicated cases involving jurisdiction, venue, removal, consolidation, transfer, and multi-district litigation.

Mr. Lane is very active in the community.  He has volunteered many hours handling or advising on pro bono cases in conjunction with the New Orleans Pro Bono Project and served as the coach of the St. Augustine High School mock trial team from 2008-2011.  Mr. Lane has been presented with the Distinguished Service Award by the Pro Bono Project (2009 and 2010), the Pro Bono Century Award by the Louisiana State Bar Association (2011), and the Crystal Gavel Award by the Louisiana State Bar Association (2012).  He has also volunteered with The Advocacy Center and Volunteers of America assisting persons with disabilities.  He currently serves as a member of the Legal Services for Persons with Disabilities Committee of the Louisiana Bar Association.
